Precooked Fonio (also called instant fonio) is an ancient West African grain (Digitaria exilis) processed through steaming or parboiling to reduce cooking time—ready-to-heat in just 3–5 minutes. It offers a light, couscous-like texture and subtly nutty flavor, absorbing the taste of broths, seasonings, or sauces used during preparation.
